The two McLean houses up on the hill in Belvedere. Ground was broken on these houses on July 4th, 1894. Madelyn grew up in one of the houses while her grandparents, Dan and Carrie McLean lived in the other house. That's Dan McLean in the foreground in front of his coal and ice company on Beach Road. The McLeans also built the Pagoda house that you see in the upper left corner.
