This is how I see my Mama whenever I think of her. It was strange to realize that her body continued to age when in my mind she was as 'young' and vital as I pictured her. It startled her too 'cause she continued to feel young in her mind... When we'd talk, she'd say, "And HOW old are you???" It continued to startle her that I was getting so 'old'... she'd say, "That's OLD! That must make me OLD-Old!". And she'd laugh! It amazed us both!
I have a picture taken of her at this time in her life holding Lance (her first grandson!)over her head with both of them laughing! Lance must have been about 6 mos....
Yes, I am RICH! She left us with a beautiful legacy!
The Belvedere-Tiburon Landmark Society still sells copies of this book. It has Madelyn's mother's history and a lot more about Belvedere and how she and her family lived.
